And because my mother has been doing this at home for many years at home, this time round - its my turn making this messy salad thingy!

So below are the ingredients and assembly of this Yu Sheng!

Photos does not show the Plum Sauce, Pepper and Cinnamon powder.

Packed Ingredients of Presevered ingredients

The Final Product

There you go.. Its not exactly that difficult. The only thing other than assembling the ingredients on the big white plate, I had to finely shred the carrots, peel the pomelo and squeeze the lime juice.

The above dish was meant for 10 people - Guess how many of us to finish it?

Din Tai Fung N Desserts

I had the luxury today to walk around a little at 313@Sommerset. I not only found a new favourite shop to buy shoes and clothes. I also had the chance to eat at my favourite restaurant Din Tai Fung.

Savouring their signature Xiao Long Baos !!! Mad Love it !! Also had the Hot & Spicy Soup. Well pictures below speaks more !! Drool baby drool!!

I did not take a photo of the Noodles as I fhungry and just ate them.

After that superb lunch, I met up with a friend and had dessert at Hot Tomato!!! Mine was the Caramelised Banana served with a scoop of ice-cream WHICH they have forgotten to serve it together. So it is not in the photo!! Check it out!

The banana was grilled/pan cooked till soft and sweet then drizzled with burnt sugar! It so yummy! I'm drooling again! Just look at the photo!
How can you say that this dessert isn't to die for?

My last stop for the day was MOF at Raffles City!! Its my first time at this eatery! And as I had a HUGE lunch followed by delish dessert. I had only room for 1 more dessert!

The dessert that I ordered was some Red Bean with Rice Balls. I felt that the red beans were too sweet for my liking. Though the rice balls are of chewy consistency that I like. 2 versions were available. Cold with almond flakes or with soft serve ice cream! Apparently, the same one is also available hot but not sure if they have it with ice cream though.
Only 1 photo too! :)

Wishing everyone a prosperous Tiger year ahead! Be safe, eat well and enjoy !!

Dining At Charcoal by Shatec on 4 Feb 2010

Received an invitation from Aaron Stewart to help him at one of his module for his school work - event catering. Also because I always wanted to try but didn't have a reason to go there.

I must say, I am impressed with the food presentation and also the quality of the food. For the price that we paid for the dinner, it is something very attractive especially in such economy situation. Pocket friendly place to go if you want to try the place out. One thing to note though, as all of them are students learning the trade of F&B, please do give them a little extra patience.

They are only trying their best to serve you with a smile.

Check out Charcoal by Shatec - Located
at 100 High Street, The Treasury Building. Contact Number: 63382798.

Caprese Salad And Beef Lasange!

I love Cheese. :)

And this is a quick and easy way to make a Caprese Salad to satisfy my madness for Cheese!

I usually make the Pesto dressing as its way simple to make. I do not even use a blender to bind the ingredients as I feel that there is just too little ingredients to blend.

A bunch of fresh basil a couple cloves of garlic, salt and pepper to taste and last but not least, olive oil to combine everything together. The picture below shows my effort ;)

Its for my starter! And for the main course.......

I made Beef Lasagne! Yummy too. Some post ago, I made this again for the longest time. The BF is lovin' it and I have made it again and freeze it for him to have over the week or so.

This time round, I made extra meat sauce to go with it.

Well Valentines Day coincide with the Lunar Chinese New Year in 2010.
